LàSTATE Return & Refund Policy
Last Updated: 23 August 2026
At LàSTATE, we stand behind the quality of our products. This Return & Refund Policy explains how returns, exchanges and refunds are handled in accordance with applicable South African consumer-protection laws.
1. Change-of-Mind Returns
For returns that are not related to a defect or incorrect order, LàSTATE may accept a change-of-mind return subject to the conditions communicated at the time of purchase.
For a voluntary change-of-mind return:
- The item must be unworn and unwashed.
- The item must be in its original condition.
- The item must not have been damaged, altered or misused.
- Original tags and packaging should be included where applicable.
- The customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the item, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
This voluntary return policy does not limit any statutory rights you may have under South African law.
2. Defective or Faulty Items
Under the Consumer Protection Act, qualifying goods carry an implied warranty of quality.
If a product is defective, unsafe, of unacceptable quality or otherwise fails to meet the requirements of the CPA, you may return it within 6 months of delivery, subject to the Act.
Where the CPA applies, the return is made without penalty and at LàSTATE's risk and expense. The consumer may be entitled to choose a repair, replacement or refund, as provided by law.
This does not automatically cover damage caused by misuse, negligence, accidents, unauthorised alterations or failure to follow care instructions.
3. Wrong Item or Incorrect Order
If LàSTATE sends you the wrong item, size or product, please contact us as soon as possible.
We will arrange an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable consumer law. Where the error is ours, LàSTATE will cover the reasonable return and replacement costs.
4. Damaged Items
If your order arrives damaged, contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photographs showing the damage.
We will assess the issue and provide the appropriate remedy where LàSTATE is responsible.
5. Exchanges
Size exchanges may be offered where stock is available.
Items must be returned in their original, unworn and unwashed condition unless the exchange relates to a defective product or another statutory consumer right.
An exchange policy does not replace or restrict your legal rights under the CPA.
6. Sale Items
Sale and promotional items may have different voluntary return conditions, which will be clearly communicated before purchase.
However, purchasing an item on sale does not remove statutory rights relating to defective, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or otherwise legally non-compliant goods.
7. Refunds
Where a refund is approved or required by law, LàSTATE will refund the applicable amount using the appropriate payment method.
For defective goods covered by the CPA, refunds will be handled in accordance with the consumer's applicable statutory rights.
Original delivery charges may be treated differently depending on the reason for the return and the applicable legal requirements.
8. How to Request a Return
To request a return, contact LàSTATE through our official customer-service channel and provide:
- Order number
- Full name
- Contact details
- Item being returned
- Reason for the return
- Photographs, where relevant
We may request reasonable information or photographs to assess a claimed defect or damage.
9. Inspection
Returned products may be inspected to determine whether the return qualifies under this policy or applicable law.
Nothing in our inspection process limits a consumer's statutory rights.
10. Statutory Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any right or remedy available to a consumer under South African law.
If any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the applicable law will prevail.
LàSTATE reserves the right to update this policy when necessary to reflect changes in applicable legislation.
